Bird’s vocals are infused with warmth and melancholy, drawing you in. The
singer of French and Spanish descent is back with Les Déferlantes, just a few months after
releasing a folk-tinged EP in French. The new opus was created in collaboration
with Mandrax, a producer, artist and a key figure in the local and
international independent music scene.
Lausanne native whipped up a condensed pop symphony in French, and she uses many
of the subtleties the language has to offer. The singer-songwriter invokes the bewitching
splendor of the night, its mysterious darkness filled with secrets. She is setting a different course on her path by exploring a richer melody that is drifting away from her more intimate folk sound. This time, audacity and desire take
one of this year’s rising stars and the accolades are well-deserved.
