RECORD-BREAKING YEAR FOR THE FESTIVAL DE LA CITÉ
A blazing sun accompanied the 53rd edition of the Festival de la Cité. Despite the intense heat, nearly 110,000 festivalgoers filled the historic streets of Lausanne for six days of artistic and festive encounters, which came to a close on Sunday evening. The monumental structure Crescendo by Swiss circus artist and ceramist Julian Vogel undoubtedly became the beating heart of the Festival, hosting live performances and concerts before large audiences and receiving praise from critics for its bold scenographic concept. The other stages also welcomed enthusiastic crowds drawn by the richness of offerings in music, dance, theatre, and circus.
